Better, Not Bitter

Let Your Past Make You Into A Better Person Not A Bitter One

Better, not Bitter

God says to love our enemies
And pray for those who hurt
And use us so despitefully
Or treat us just like dirt.
That’s not an easy thing to do
When feelings are so raw
And we feel like we want revenge
And breaths are hard to draw.
That’s when we must rely upon
The Holy Spirit’s aid
To just release the anger and
Make sure the pain gets laid
Once and for all at Jesus’ feet
And nailed to His rough cross.
You’ll find that all the peace you gain
Will far outweigh the loss.
You’ll lose the chance for your revenge,
But if you’ll sit and pray,
A peace you’ll never understand
Will fill your heart today.
Just pray for God to melt their hearts
And show a better path
And save them, as He has saved you,
From all His fearful wrath.

Feel free to print, share or repost anything on this blog. I do ask that you let me know if you use one of my poems on your blog or at your church somehow. It might give me an idea of better ways to spread His words, which I am always looking to do. And of course, always keep the copyright symbol and my name with the poem so I continue to have the right to use them. You may not realize that if something is posted enough times without the copyright notice, I could lose the copyright and then someone else could conceivably file for a copyright and I would no longer be able to use my own poems! It has happened, so please make sure the (c) is always on the poem whenever you repost. Thanks!

God bless,
Denise McKenney
