I’m Thankful
I’m thankful for my family,
My friends and those I love.
I’m thankful for sweet birds that sing
And blue skies up above.
If I could list each blessing that
I’m truly thankful for,
I’d need a million sheets or so
And still there would be more.
Each day brings blessings, fresh and new,
From God, who showers me
With blessings, mercy and His grace
That I can’t always see.
Still, it is always waiting there
Just like some hidden prize.
And suddenly, His love shines through
And right before my eyes
I’ll see the proof, and feel it, too,
So warm inside my heart.
My Savior died to set me free.
I am His work of art.
So what I am most thankful for
Is Jesus cares enough
To be with me and hold me close
When life on earth gets rough.

Feel free to print, share or repost anything on this blog. I do ask that you let me know if you use one of my poems on your blog or at your church somehow. It might give me an idea of better ways to spread His words, which I am always looking to do. And of course, always keep the copyright symbol and my name with the poem so I continue to have the right to use them. You may not realize that if something is posted enough times without the copyright notice, I could lose the copyright and then someone else could conceivably file for a copyright and I would no longer be able to use my own poems! It has happened, so please make sure the (c) is always on the poem whenever you repost. Thanks!
God bless,
Denise McKenney
yes, yes, yes! It is thankful people who are happy. I am happiest when I keep a gratitude list.
I have slacked off lately, but I used to (and need to again) write prayer requests on index cards. It made it easy to keep one that needed repeated prayers and put away ones that had no more need. And on the back of those He answered, I could write how He answered them. Then put them in a box and whenever I needed a reminder of the power of prayer, I could look at all those answered prayers. Very practical idea as well as faith building. And Index cards are easy to carry in my purse for when someone asks for prayer, so I can write it down then and not forget.
