You’re No Accident

I heard a podcast where Chuck Missler was talking about what a miracle every baby is. Of course, we all know that, but he was pointing out how Psalm 139 and Jeremiah 1:5 (Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee) are totally accurate in talking about how God forms each baby in a very hands-on way. A cell divides into two identical cells; those divide into two identical cells. But if this continued, you wouldn’t have a person, just a blob of identical cells. God reaches in at some point and changes one of the cells into a bone cell and shapes it to form your spine. He makes another start forming into your kidneys. Same for your hands and brain and heart and lungs. All of the varied organs and parts of your body are formed and shaped and molded by God’s loving hand. A single cell couldn’t make anything on its own but a twin of itself. Only God can make them become all the parts of you. When you look in the mirror and don’t like your hair color or your skin color or your height, please remember that God fashioned you with just those things exactly as they are with His own hands and guided your development before your mother even knew you existed. You are God’s poema, His artwork, His creation, His masterpiece.

You’re No Accident

You started out as just one cell.
In time, the cell then split.
It made another little cell
Identical to it!
Now if that just continued on
With cells all just the same,
That wouldn’t work at all and so
God fashioned you a frame.
He guided cells to make your bones
And arms and legs and spine.
He formed your heart and kidneys and
Made sure they came out fine.
How can you think that it was not
The gentle hand of God
That molded you so perfectly?
He knows that you’re not flawed.
He made you just the way you are
In every single part.
How can you think He doesn’t care
Or hold you in His heart?
He loves you more than you can know
So please don’t think you’re junk.
Though some say you’re an accident
That’s just a load of bunk!
God made you as you are and He
Loves you eternally.
So give the heart He fashioned back
To Him and you will see
How much He loves you every day
No matter what you do.
He’s still your loving Father and
Wants all the best for you.

Feel free to print, share or repost anything on this blog. I do ask that you let me know if you use one of my poems on your blog or at your church somehow. It might give me an idea of better ways to spread His words, which I am always looking to do. And of course, always keep the copyright symbol and my name with the poem so I continue to have the right to use them. You may not realize that if something is posted enough times without the copyright notice, I could lose the copyright and then someone else could conceivably file for a copyright and I would no longer be able to use my own poems! It has happened, so please make sure the (c) is always on the poem whenever you repost. Thanks!

God bless,
Denise McKenney

I have been wanting to write on this topic for some time, but couldn’t get the tone right before. I was pretty pleased with the way this came out. Glad you like it, too.
